Before the first autumn fire, the new rope should fit the groove and allow normal door closure. Start selecting the diameter from the device documentation, as the worn section may be flattened. Replacing the material should restore the intended detail without changing the frame and mechanism operation.
Record the format and routing
On the cold stove, photograph the old arrangement, especially the corners and the meeting of the ends. Measure the length of the groove and check the gasket profile. Do not select the diameter solely based on the colour of the previous gasket. Black stove rope has its available formats. However, the same appearance does not guarantee the same compression in different devices.
Prepare the groove before applying glue
Remove old material and loose residues according to the instructions. Inspect the seating surface, hinges, and lock. A damaged groove or crooked frame requires evaluation before installing the next section.

After the intended use and cooling, inspect the entire perimeter, including less accessible corners. Record the selected variant and length. During the next inspection, it will be possible to compare the specific detail instead of selecting the gasket again according to the worn, deformed fragment.
