Pizza Oven Accessories: Fit Tools to the Working Space

Vitcas metal pizza oven peel with a wooden handle

A useful pizza oven accessory should solve a specific problem during operation. A long peel does not help if there is no room behind the person operating it for handle movement. Before buying a set, measure the chamber, entrance, and space in front of the oven.

Start with inserting and removing dishes

The Vitcas metal oven peel has a wooden handle and is used for transferring food in the appropriate wood-fired oven. Compare the width of the working part with the opening and the surface on which you will place the pizza. The handle must allow work without uncomfortable bending over the entrance.

Before lighting the fire, practice the movement with an empty tool. Also check where the peel will be placed after use. Its working part may be hot or covered in ash, so it should not accidentally land on the surface intended for preparing raw dough.

Cleaning requires access to the bottom

Vitcas brush and scraper combines two tools for cleaning the proper oven surface. Adjust the method of use according to the lining. The scraper is not meant for prying joints or detaching a fragment that is part of the floor.

Inspect the brush before each task, especially the fastening and bristles. A worn tool may leave debris on the baking surface. Do not interpret the description of a heat-resistant handle as permission to leave it in the flame.

Choose temperature monitoring for the required location

Oven probe thermometer is a different tool than infrared measurement. The probe reads conditions at the installation site; surface measurement pertains to the selected portion of the bottom. One result does not automatically describe the entire chamber.

First, complete the equipment needed for your own baking and cleaning method. Choose additional cookware according to the dimensions and temperature range specified by the manufacturer. Keep access to the chamber available, rather than storing tools that are used occasionally in front of the entrance.
